Great Britain began their International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Under-18 Women’s World Championship Division II campaign with a 6-0 victory over Mexico in Group A in Istanbul, of which two goals were scored by Whitley Bays U16 girls very own Ruby Newlands.
On Saturday 26th January, our proud bunch of Under 16 girls took to Sutton for what turned out to be a passionate game of Ice Hockey. The Under sixteen girls Northern Conference trials recently took place and four of the Whitley Bay girls were selected to play on the team . Their names are Rachael Mcguckin( Net Minder), Sophie Newton(Forward), Abbie Thornton (Forward), Danielle Turnbull (Forward).
