January Club Update

Management Committee

  • Peter Head and Gillian Johnson have, for entirely different reasons, decided to relinquish their roles. This leaves the Club without a current Chair or Vice Chair.
  • Anyone interested in these important positions is asked to contact Mel, Mick or Judi as quickly as possible.
  • A brief description of what’s involved can be found here.

Coaching & Development

  • Mick is aiming for a minimum 3 coaches per age group and the Club will have 2 attendees at an EIHA Level 1 course in Hull early February
  • There are plans to establish a ‘Club classroom’ to support on-ice training and help with video analysis of games etc. Further news will follow
  • Eddie Harris continues to recover from a collapsed lung and we hope to see him back to full health as quickly as possible
  • Mick is co-ordinating 2013 tournament entries which are likely to see Club representation at Kirkcaldy, Hull and Sheffield. Additional U10 challenge games are also to be arranged to supplement EIHA cross-ice sessions

General

  •  Team photos are still available to order from Michael Ramsey Photography, following the home page link. Individual player ‘action shots’ can also be commissioned by arrangement.
  •  Sample tracksuits are also being sourced and should be available to order shortly

Finances

  • The position is broadly in line with the 2012/13 budget
  • Pre-Christmas bag packs helped raise nearly £1500 and a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped. Further bag packs are planned for later in the year

  1. Would like to thank all committee members parents and players for their help and support over the last year. It was with great sadness when due to ill health my employer advised that I could no longer carry out any external work either employed or voluntary for a period of up to six months, As they pay my wages even when off work they felt any duties that caused anxiety or stress should be temporarily avoided. I was hoping to continue in my role at the club but due to the length of time before I could return to club duties, thought it more beneficial for the club if they could find a replacement. Good luck and a happy new year to you all, and hopefully in the near future I may be able to return to help the club in some capacity .
