Mohawks V Solihull U13’s

Mohawks picked up an easy win over Solihull U13’s on home ice.

Alternate Captain, Sam Hails opened the scoring in the first period with an assist by Oliver Jardine.   An interference call for Max Torre landed him with 2 minutes in the penalty box.  Solihull were unable to take advantage of the power play leaving Oliver Jardine and Dylan Towndrow to put away 2 shorthanded goals.  Despite returning to full strength Solihull’s defence couldn’t hold back Jack McVeigh and George Cowey who scored goals 4 & 5 just 16 seconds apart.

Ethan Dunn added to the scoreboard in the second period taking the Mohawks to a 6-goal lead. Ben Wood unfortunately landed himself for 14-minute penalty for slashing and unsportsman like behaviour.  Yet again Solihull were unable to take advantage of the power play and Max Torre put away another shorthanded goal. The scoreboard kept ticking up as both Oliver Jardine and Max Torre scored for the second time.

The Mercy rule was invoked in the third period with just less than 10 minutes remaining on the clock following goals from Dylan Towndrow, George Cowey and Jack Williams leaving Mohawks with a 12 -0 win over Solihull U13’s.
