Tomahawks v Coventry U15’s

Tomahawks suffered a defeat on the road this weekend against relegated Coventry U15’s.

Coventry quickly took the lead with a goal from Coney, assisted by Sullivan and Butlin. Tye Addison picked up a 2 minute tripping penalty but Coventry were not able to capitalise on the power play leaving Coventry 1-0 up at the end of the first period.

The second period saw both teams spending time in the penalty box. Owen Yarrow’s 2 minute tripping penalty lead to Hayward scoring on the power play. Though shortly after found himself in the box for back checking giving Tomahawks the power play allowing James Toby open the scoring, assisted by Owen Yarrow. As the second period was coming to a close a late hit sent James Toby into the penalty box.

Krnac’s goal, assisted by Somerton at the start of the third period brought Coventry’s score to 3-1, but also landed Tarr a 2 minute stint in the penalty box for slashing. Coney added another goal to the board with assists from Parham and Dixon. Seconds later James Toby brought the scoreline to 4-2.

Daniel McGowan impressively blocked 55 of the 59 shots on target netting himself Spirit of the Game.
