U16 Girls Northern Conference Trails
The Under sixteen girls Northern Conference trials recently took place and four of the Whitley Bay girls were selected to play on the team . Their names are Rachael Mcguckin( Net Minder), Sophie Newton(Forward), Abbie Thornton (Forward), Danielle Turnbull (Forward). We also had Lucy Chisholm (Arrows) who managed to get through to the second stage of the trials. More information about the Northern Conference can be found here.

Fundraising The Christmas raffle resulted in disappointing ticket sales and only a nominal cash surplus. Next event is a Race night at Blue Flames Club, Longbenton which is to include a fancy dress competition for players. Initially scheduled for 27 January the evening is being postponed until the February half-term week to help maximise attendance. Further detail will be provided shortly. Tomahawks Vs. Telford
The Tomahawks were back to full strength with the return of Jack Davies to the line up, having missed the last 4 games through suspension and then injury. Telford travelled with a short bench, but are a team that always provide tough opposition. Whitley won the corresponding fixture in Telford 5-4, but were more comfortable than that scoreline suggests.

Finances Things remain tight and it will take a while for subs increases and increased player numbers to have full affect. An open meeting to run through finances will be held early in the New Year. This will also give Mick Mishner an opportunity to address and update parents.
Tomahawks Vs. Coventry
In their second game of the weekend, the Tomahawks played host to league leaders Coventry. Coventry went into the game with the best defensive record of any team at any level in the country, incredibly conceding only 2 goals in 8 games so far. The Tomahawks travelled to lowly Manchester for their first game of a double header weekend, with the perfect opportunity to bounce back from their cruel loss at the hands of Bradford in their previous game.
